Stage 7 Gathering and analysing facts

Stage 7 Gathering and analysing facts-

On this step all evidence and facts are put together and fully analysed. This is done using forensic evidence and witness statements. By analysing all the facts and evidence they can try to come to a conclusion of who the killer is or even find some suspects. This stage is important because it is the final stage to analyse all the evidence and come to a judgement on what has been collected. If evidence is overlooked in this stage it means that someone could be charged guilty for a crime they didn’t commit. For example if the evidence said the footprints match up to a neighbour, but this neighbour was present at the time because they were helping the victim they could be wrongly accused. So gathering the evidence is the first important step then making sure it is correctly analysed is important as well. This is a significant stage as it is the final stage to put all the evidence facts and information together and come to a conclusion. If this stage wasn’t done it would be difficult to find out who the person was because there wouldn’t be a final judgement of all information and evidence. There aren’t much ethical issues involved in this as it is a look through evidence and doesn’t affect the community or other people. In this stage analysing through the facts again makes it more successful as this can prevent any mistakes happening, by checking it twice it prevents errors and can prevent the acquittal of a guilty party.

In my case, all the forensic evidence was collected for example the blood splatter found on Sion Jenkins clothing and the statements that they got from the family members and neighbours and Sion Jenkins was previously accused of ‘hitting the daughters with slippers or sticks’. Due to all these statements on the 13th of march he was arrested and interviewed more and charged on the 14th.
